Harry Oxenreider and Frederick “Fritz” Mackes were grandfather and great uncle to owner Joe Beckham. They were ordinary men—businessmen from Allentown, Pennsylvania—who worked hard, traveled when they could, and valued the simple pleasure of going out to eat with their wives.
They weren’t chasing trends or theatrics. They were looking for a good meal, a comfortable room, and the chance to enjoy time together. That spirit is the foundation of Harry & Fritz.
Our cooking is rooted in classic American traditions, guided by seasonality, quality ingredients, and restraint. These are familiar flavors prepared with intention—food that invites comfort without sacrificing craft.
The bar follows the same philosophy. Well-made classics, thoughtful variations, and a wine list designed to be enjoyed rather than decoded. Drinks that belong at the table and in the moment.
The best rooms don’t ask for your attention.
They invite you in and let you settle.
At Harry & Fritz, the room is designed to feel familiar the moment you sit down. Warm materials, soft light, and an easy rhythm create a space meant for lingering—not rushing. Nothing here is precious. Everything here has a purpose.
It’s a room built for conversation and connection. For shared plates in the middle of the table. For leaning back after the first round and staying for another. For nights that stretch a little longer than planned.
This is a place where the setting supports the moment—quietly, comfortably, and without interruption.
